Minister criticizes senator’s speech about offering rare earths from Brazil to the United States
The Chief Minister of the Civil House, (PT), stated this Tuesday (31.mar.2026) that the senator’s (PL) proposal to win this year’s elections and reach the Presidency of the Republic is “deliver Brazil’s riches to another country”. Costa will leave the government to run for a senatorial position in Bahia.
In an interview with GloboNewsthe PT member and given by Flávio Bolsonaro, on Saturday (28 March), during CPAC (Conservative Political Action Conference), an event held in Texas, United States. On the occasion, the son of the former president (PL) stated that “Brazil is the solution for the United States to reduce its dependence on China in critical minerals, especially rare earths”.
“The proposal is to hand over Brazil’s wealth to another country, just as they did recently, endorsing possible intervention by the United States in Brazil. Perhaps this will be the center of their government program”said Rui Costa.
The minister was asked about the strategy of the president’s (PT) re-election campaign in light of Flávio Bolsonaro’s growth in voting intention polls. Costa stated that “no communication strategy involving the other candidates was discussed in the government, nor in the pre-campaign”.
In a survey by Paraná Pesquisas released on Monday (March 30, 2026), Lula and Flávio technically appear in the 1st and 2nd round.
