The Legislative Assembly of Acre (Aleac) approved, in a plenary vote held this Wednesday (1), the matters that guarantee state. The two projects were approved by 15 votes in favor, consolidating the progress of the proposals after prior analysis in the House committees.

The measures deal with the granting and expansion of benefits to civil servants, including the new food allowance of R$800 for active civil servants and R$700 for military personnel. The package also provides for health aid of R$500 for retirees and pensioners, in addition to the application of the Annual General Adjustment (RGA) of 5.08%.

During the process, deputies also expanded the scope of benefits, including civil servants on class mandate, away for health reasons, on vacation or on paid leave. The text also extends food assistance to delegates from the Civil Police and military personnel from the Executive Branch, categories that previously did not receive the benefit.

The approval in plenary took place after weeks of negotiations between the government and unions, marked by differences over values and scope of the measures. While the Executive defended the proposal as viable within the State’s budget limitations, trade unions even presented counter-proposals with larger readjustments and expanded benefits for all categories.

With the approval of the deputies, the projects now go to government sanction. The new rules are expected to come into effect from June 1st this year.
