US President Donald Trump threatened attacks on Iranian bridges and power plants on Friday night. In a post on his Truth Social network, he wrote that the new Iranian leadership “knows what needs to be done and quickly,” reports TASR.
- Trump threatened attacks on Iranian bridges and power plants.
- Iran is asking for the quick opening of the Strait of Hormuz.
- The US has already destroyed several Iranian infrastructure targets.
In recent days, the head of the White House has repeatedly called on Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Otherwise, he threatened to destroy Iran’s power plants, oil wells and the island of Chark.
“Our armed forces, which are (by far!) the largest and strongest in the world, have not even begun to destroy what is left in Iran. Bridges are next, then power plants!,” said SELČ on the Truth Social network on Friday night.
We are destroying the infrastructure, he claims
The US president warned of further attacks on road infrastructure earlier on Thursday after announcing that Iran’s largest bridge, connecting the capital Tehran and the city of Karaj, had collapsed and would never be used again. Iranian media reported that the bridge was the target of two attacks that killed at least two people.
The strikes launched by the US and Israel on Iran in a coordinated action on February 28 have already damaged or destroyed the vast majority of major military targets in Iran, according to Trump. In retaliation, the Islamic Republic launches missile and drone attacks on the Jewish state and the Gulf countries where US bases are located.
The leadership of the “new Iranian regime” now, according to the American president, “knows what needs to be done, and it needs to be done, FAST!”. According to the AFP agency, he was apparently referring to his call for Tehran to reach an agreement with Washington on a cease-fire before it is too late.
