Iran hits desalination plant in Kuwait - Political infrastructure hit on both sides

Dramatic is the expansion of the targets hit in , as on the one hand, as evidence shows, bridges and hospitals are being hit, and on the other, the Gulf countries are faced with more and more destruction as Iran continues to hit energy infrastructures and now also desalination units, as at least Kuwait announced.

More specifically, according to what the Kuwaiti authorities announced, on the 35th day of the war, a power plant with a desalination plant was hit by drone attacks, while earlier the Mina al-Ahmadi oil refinery was also hit by drone attacks, which even caused fire in some production units.

What is happening in the rest of the Gulf countries?

At the same time, the Ministry of Defense of the United Arab Emirates stated that the country is facing a new wave of missile and drone attacks attributed to Iran.

Debris from an intercepted missile caused a fire at the Habshan gas facility, a large natural gas processing complex, halting operations. According to a related announcement, air defense systems of the Emirates intercepted 19 ballistic missiles and 26 drones on Thursday alone.

Saudi Arabia also said it destroyed a drone in its airspace overnight, while Bahrain activated incoming missile warning sirens three times, according to Anadolu Agency.

Warnings of further strikes from Tehran

Alongside the above, Tehran has warned again of strikes on major US technology companies in the Gulf, as attacks on its soil continue. According to a new video with Iranian military spokesman Ibrahim Zolfaghari, if the US strikes Iranian energy plants, Tehran will hit the region’s energy infrastructure as well as US-owned IT and telecommunications companies.

Iran has suffered damage to its political infrastructure

The statements come after the US strike on the B1 highway bridge, outside the city of Karaj, which cost the lives of 8 people. The attack, celebrated by Donald Trump, is being used as a means of pressuring Tehran to accept a deal.

More specifically, according to Trump, he threatened that the targeting of political infrastructure in Iran will continue, specifically referring to bridges and power plants. “Hitting political infrastructure, including bridges under construction, will not force the Iranians to surrender,” Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi responded to Trump’s threats.

Iranian health infrastructure is also targeted

In Iran, in addition to the attacks and threats against infrastructure such as those mentioned above, the attacks on health and health structures, as for example at the Pasteur Institute of Iran, are taking on alarming proportions.

On the occasion of the blow to Pasteur, the head of the World Health Organization (WHO) went ahead with a post claiming that the Organization has confirmed more than 20 attacks on health facilities in Iran since March 1, in which at least nine people have been killed, including a member of the Iranian Red Crescent. In addition to Pasteur, a psychiatric hospital and production facilities for anti-cancer and multiple sclerosis drugs have been affected.
