Venice – 45,000 people have already registered on the portal where tourists have to pay a fee for a day’s stay in the city of Venice. The fee of five euros is due on 60 days this year – starting on Good Friday. For Friday, 23,000 exemption reports were submitted on the portal, 20,000 of which were from visitors who stay overnight in city accommodation and are therefore exempt because they already pay the tourist tax.
