Stronger winds may occur in the mountains, especially in central Slovakia, in the coming days. This is pointed out by the Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMÚ), which issued warnings of the first level. He informs about it on the social network.
The warnings apply to several districts of the Žilina Region and the districts of Banská Bystrica, Brezno and Poprad. On the ridges of the mountains, the wind can reach gusts of 110 to 135 kilometers per hour (km/h), an average of 70 to 85 km/h), which is a gale. “The expected wind speed represents a potential danger for human activities, especially for hiking, mountain climbing and the like,” reminds SHMÚ.
Warnings are provisionally valid from Sunday at 10:00 p.m., until Monday at 10:00 a.m., in some districts until midnight from Monday to Tuesday.
