Upper Austrian Julian Schöberl loses the “boat race” against Cambridge with Oxford

London – The Upper Austrian Julian Schöberl clearly lost the 171st edition of the rowing duel with Cambridge on Saturday with the Oxford eight. Cambridge achieved 89:81 victories in the competition between elite universities that has been held on the Thames in London since 1829; in 1877 there was a “dead heat” with no winner. The 29-year-old Schöberl was the third Austrian and the first for Oxford to take part in the legendary “Boat Race” over 6.8 kilometers.
