After friction between Nikolas and Eduardo, Valdemar asks PL members to avoid discussion

The national president of the Liberal Party, Valdemar Costa Neto, asked this Monday (6) that party members avoid discussions among themselves in an election year. The information was obtained from the blog of Gustavo Uribe, from CNN.

According to the publication, Valdemar spoke out asking parliamentarians and pre-candidates to be patient and avoid friction on social media, especially among themselves.

“We can’t fight. We have to be patient. We have to think about Jair Bolsonaro. See what he’s going through”, the PL leader was quoted as saying.

The statement comes after the Easter weekend was marked by an exchange of barbs between Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) and Nikolas Ferreira (PL-MG) on social media.

The discussion occurred after Nikolas reacted with a laugh to one of the publications by the former deputy and an ally at

“Snickering at me? Apparently, there are no limits to your disrespect towards me and my family,” he wrote.

Eduardo also questioned Nikolas’ performance on the networks, suggesting that the parliamentarian was using his digital reach to boost himself politically at the expense of his family and voice criticism against Jair.

“The spotlight and fame did you harm, unfortunately. It took me a long time to believe that you worked the algorithm of your networks to give visibility to those who wish my father’s death, to those who celebrate his arrest and to all those who hate me and my family”, he published.

The interaction also caused the senator and presidential candidate, Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ), to ask right-wing politicians to stop “fighting” over “hurts and provocations”.

It is very distressing to see leaders on our side fighting each other while we have a country to rescue. The enemy is not here, he is over there. This is the kind of confusion that has no winner. Everyone loses. Everyone has their reasons and their sorrows, they have the right to defend themselves against what they think is provocation, but we need to focus on the path we need to follow. Forgive each other,” he said.
