UK Lottery player fails to claim £10.6m jackpot by the deadline of April 2, when his 180-day period expired. TASR writes about it according to The Independent.
“Despite an extensive search for the mysterious Bexley millionaire, I can confirm that the ticket holder did not claim his lottery winnings and has now unfortunately lost this life-changing sum of money.” said Andy Carter, Senior Advisor to Allwyn Winners.
He bought the ticket in Bexley, south-east London, on October 4, 2025, and a public appeal by the National Lottery before the deadline did not help him find it. The money was transferred to the National Lottery Good Causes fund, from which public benefit projects are financed.
“Most of the winnings that go unclaimed tend to be of a lower level. It’s very unusual for a win of this size to go unclaimed.” said a spokesman for Allwyn, the operator of the National Lottery.
So far, no-one has claimed the National Lottery’s top five jackpots, worth a total of more than £3.2m, three of which are EuroMillions or £1m lotteries. “The money will add to the £33 million raised each week for National Lottery funded projects, several of which are in the Bexley area.” he added.
These include, for example, the community arts and crafts organization The Exchange Erith and the You and Me Happy Family Children’s Disability Foundation, which helps children with disabilities in their education and careers.
