Media Center Ukraine (a civil initiative and joint communication platform between the government, companies and communicators created in Ukraine after the Russian military invasion) has recently published a book that has the ambitious goal of becoming a manual so that other countries know how to combat .
His name is The White Paper: Navigating the Minefield of Russian Propaganda and it not only focuses on the events that occurred with the beginning of the war but also goes back to the 90s.
As reported by the Ukrainian media the book, in the production of which the European Union has collaboratedseeks to show the world Ukraine’s experience in fighting Russian disinformation and make that knowledge useful to journalists, diplomats, politicians, researchers and public figures living beyond Ukrainian borders.
The book identifies the reindeer propaganda as “one of the main tools of the hybrid war against Ukraine for decades”since this disinformation work has managed to manipulate public opinion in Ukraine and even influence political processes and national security.
A guide with all the Ukrainian learnings about Russian disinformation tactics
What the authors intend with the publication of this book is to provide a kind of ‘guide’ in which all Ukrainian learning about Russian disinformation tactics is compiled which until now were dispersed in numerous reports, projects and initiatives.
Consequently, the book, beyond being intended for Ukrainian citizens to read and reflect on its content, is designed to share knowledge abroad about the functioning of Russian propaganda, something that, according to the authors, “can serve as a valuable resource for other States seeking to strengthen their information defenses.”
