At the beginning, people say, the church was a little disturbing, with all its X-pillars and hard concrete surfaces, irritating because of its nakedness and barrenness, built entirely in the spirit of the Second Vatican Council. But in the beginning, it is also said, the community in the young Ennsleite district with its newly built Steyr workers’ apartments flourished, with hundreds of visitors to the church services and the very first monthly youth fairs in the whole of Austria.
