Government launches 12th edition of Viver Ciência with a focus on Amazon connections

Acre education took an important step towards strengthening research and innovation this Monday (6). The State Government, through the official launch of the 12th Acre Education, Science, Technology and Innovation Exhibition Viver Ciência 2026. The opening event took place at Escola Sebastião Pedrosa, in Rio Branco, bringing together the school community to present this year’s guidelines.

With the theme “Amazon Connections: knowledge, science and in dialogue”the exhibition seeks to value student leadership and encourage scientific productions that speak directly to the contemporary challenges of the Amazon. For the Secretary of Education, Reginaldo Prates, the initiative is a showcase for local talent. “I am sure that it will result in innovative work that will transcend the limits of our region,” he stated.

Registration and Pedagogical Support

Guiding teachers interested in submitting projects have until the day April 26 to register via electronic form on the official website: viverciencia.see.ac.gov.br. According to the general coordination of the event, the process was simplified to facilitate participation.

Anne Ruela, general coordinator of the exhibition, highlighted that the pedagogical support will be a differentiator in this edition. “Our expectation is to increase the number of participations, especially because we will have more time to monitor projects and write research this year”, he explained.

Areas of Knowledge and Dates

The culmination of the 12th edition is scheduled for the following days November 25th and 26thin the capital of Acre. The event will host projects in several areas, including:

  • Applied Humanities and Social Sciences;

  • Languages, Natural Sciences and Mathematics;

  • Robotics, Automation and Information Technologies.

Example in Practice

The choice of Escola Sebastião Pedrosa for the launch was not by chance. The unit manager, professor Maria Sandi Silva Guedes, reported that the school has already developed around 40 projects for the exhibition over the years. “Each year we seek to involve more students in investigations, ensuring quality learning”, highlighted the manager.

The 2026 edition reaffirms the state’s commitment to transforming the school into a living laboratory, where science and regional science go together to solve real problems in the Acre territory.
