A tragic traffic accident involving a Škoda Fabia passenger motor vehicle occurred on Monday (April 6) in the evening hours on the I/19 road between Dargov and Sečovci (Trebišov district). The driver of the vehicle died as a result of the accident. The Košice regional police informed about it on the social network.

- A Škoda Fabia passenger car crashed on road I nineteen near Dargov.
- The police found the car on the side of the road in smoke and the driver seriously injured.
- The police officer and dog handler tried to revive the driver, but he died.
- The road section was temporarily closed and the police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
The accident happened approximately one kilometer from Dargov. The vehicle was found crashed on the side of the road with smoke still coming out of it. The police found the driver near the roadside with serious injuries. “A traffic police officer and a dog handler tried to revive him until the rescuers arrived. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, the doctor pronounced him dead on the spot,” the police said.
Road I/19 was temporarily impassable in both directions in that section, the detour led through the village of Bačkov. The circumstances, the exact cause and the degree of culpability of the traffic accident are the subject of further investigation.
