The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced the dates for the next two editions of the Oscars. The announcement comes two weeks after it was revealed that the ceremony will change location from 2029.
According to the the 99th ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, March 14, 2027while the 100th, which marks the centenary of the film industry’s main award, will take place a year later, on Sunday, March 5, 2028.
From 2029, the year of the 101st edition, the film industry’s main award will leave the em where it has been held since 2002, to be installed in no in downtown Los Angeles, a space that has hosted the Primetime Emmy Awards since 2008.
O eligibility period began January 1st and ends December 31st this year. The deadline for submission in the general categories is set for November 12th.
Os which pay homage to careers in the film industry, the November 15th. The preliminary vote takes place between December 7th and 11thwith the announcement of the preliminary lists made at December 15th.
Voting for nominations takes place between January 11th and 15th, 2027with the official announcement of the nominees scheduled for January 21st. The nominees’ lunch takes place at February 16 of 2027.
The final voting phase takes place between February 25th and March 4th 2027, ten days before the 99th Oscar ceremony, scheduled for March 14, 2027.
