Kühtai – An avalanche in the Tyrolean Kühtai (Imst district) ended fatally for one in three snowboarders on Wednesday afternoon. The winter sports enthusiasts were driving from the “Die Mute” summit towards the Finstertal reservoir when a slab of snow came loose. The middle of the group was completely buried. After two and a half hours of searching, rescue workers were able to locate him. But he could only be recovered dead. The snowboarders did not carry any emergency equipment with them.
