From almost 54 million euros in 2024 it rose to 4 million last year. There was an increase in operating costs.

A TAP registered 4.1 million euros in profit in 2025, a descent of 92,36% in relation to the previous year, a result that the company justified with the update of IRPJ rates.

In 2024, the Portuguese air carrier achieved a net profit of 53.7 million euros.

Last year, “TAP Air Portugal recorded a positive net profit of 4.1 million euros. The recurring net profit would have been 46 million of euros, if we excluded the impact of updating interest rates IRC [Imposto sobre o Rendimento de pessoas Coletivas]”, reads the statement released by the company.

The adds that, in addition to the change in IRC, there was also a increased operating costsin a phase of global uncertainty: they rose 3,6% globally to 4 billion euros.

In this chapter, the biggest increase was seen in depreciation and amortization (+10.8%), while fuel costs fell last year (-5.4%).

In turn, the operating income totaled 4,313 million euros, an increase of 1.2% compared to 2024, driven by ticket revenue (+0.8%) and the maintenance business (+10.7%).

O EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) was R$742.9 million, with a margin of 17.2%.

And they were “solid results, supported by a resilient demand for tickets across the network, especially in the second half of the year, and by a relevant contribution from the Maintenance business, which continued to reinforce its weight in total revenues”, writes Luís Rodrigues, executive director of the company.

Just looking at the fourth quarter 2025, there was a loss of 51 million of euros – again a lot due to the adjustment in IRPJ, of R$42 million, according to the company.

In 2025, the Restructuring Plan was completed and the Government began the privatization process of up to 49.9%.

To 2026, TAP foresees “disciplined growth and sustainable, supported by the expansion and modernization of the fleet with Airbus NEO aircraft, reinforcing operational efficiency and sustainability”. This growth should be driven “mainly by the transatlantic network, with emphasis on Brazil, and by the expansion of operations from Porto”.
