Trump says US military will remain in Iran until agreement reached

United States President Donald Trump said in the early hours of Thursday (9) that American military ships and aircraft will remain around Iran until a complete agreement is reached. The American president threatened that the US will “shoot” again if Tehran does not fully comply with the treaty.

“All U.S. ships, aircraft and military personnel, with additional ammunition and weaponry and everything else that is appropriate and necessary for the lethal conduct and destruction of an already substantially weakened enemy, will remain positioned in and around Iran until the REAL AGREEMENT reached is fully fulfilled,” Trump said on his Truth Social platform.

“If for some reason that doesn’t happen, which is highly unlikely, then ‘the shots will start’, bigger, better and stronger than anything ever seen before,” the American president added.

Iran had declared on Wednesday (8) that it would be “unreasonable” to continue negotiations to establish a permanent peace agreement with the United States, after killing hundreds of people.

The two sides appeared to be at odds, with Trump stating that Iran had agreed to stop enriching uranium, and the speaker of the Iranian parliament, Mohammed Bager Qalibaf, saying it was permitted to continue enriching uranium under the terms of the ceasefire.

“This was agreed upon a long time ago, and despite all the false rhetoric to the contrary – NO NUCLEAR WEAPONS and the like,” Trump added in his post on Thursday.

Trump ended his post by writing: “Meanwhile, our great Armed Forces are resupplying and resting, with an eye, in fact, on their next conquest. AMERICA IS BACK.”
