Government maintains discount on ISP during fuel drop week

The government announced that it will not reduce the value of the current ISP extraordinary discount, despite the prospect that next week there will be a drop in the price of diesel and gasoline.

O Government announced this Friday that it will not reduce the value of the ISP extraordinary discount in forcedespite the prospect that next week there will be a drop in the price of diesel and gasoline.

“With the prospect that next week there will be a drop in the price of road diesel and gasoline, the Government has decided not to reduce the value of the extraordinary and temporary discount on the ISP in force, thus resulting in the current discount being in an amount greater than that which corresponds to the additional VAT revenue”, the Ministry of Finance announced in a statement.

Like this, A reduction in ISP rates of 8.3 cents per liter on road diesel and 4.6 cents per liter on unleaded gasoline will continue to apply.

The real discount, already considering the incidence of VAT, it will remain at 10.3 cents per liter in the case of road diesel and 5.6 cents per liter in the case of unleaded gasoline.

“[…] If we consider the support for fuels introduced by this Government, in the context of the conflict in Iran, and the discounts that were previously in force, the accumulated reduction is 21.6 cents per liter for unleaded gasoline and 19.9 cents per liter for road diesel”, highlighted the ministry led by Miranda Sarmento, adding that the Government will continue to monitor price developments on a weekly basis.
