The national president of the PSD, , stated, this Thursday (April 9, 2026), that the party is not looking for alliances for the presidential dispute and that, at this moment, the priority is to consolidate the pre-candidate’s government project.
According to him, the PSD is more focused on structuring government commitments than on expanding alliances. “If any party seeks us out, it will be well received, but, at this moment, there is no focus from the party on any alliance”stated during a dinner debate promoted by Grupo Esfera, in São Paulo.
According to Kassab, the political scenario has changed and reduced the weight of party coalitions, especially with the advancement of social networks. “Today, television time has lost its importance. Social networks operate for four years in office”, these.
The PSD president also indicated that the definition of the vice candidate on Caiado’s ticket will follow the same logic. For him, the choice should not be limited to electoral potential, but will consider the ability to contribute to governability. “We want to choose not just a deputy who will help win the elections, but mainly who will help govern the country”these.
Despite ruling out, for now, the active search for support, the leader left open the possibility of future negotiations, should parties interested in joining the PSD appear throughout the campaign.
