For ten years, Vienna had a laboratory for urbanism on the St. Marx open space: on the approximately 45,000 square meter wasteland, various clubs ran various self-managed cultural projects: including a self-built, managed and financed skate park and community gardens. The area was also used by a variety of cultural initiatives and residents of the district. There were concerts, flea markets and cinema evenings, there was a basketball court, table tennis and much more.
