Sabrina Carpenter confuses fan’s cultural cry and goes viral: “I didn’t like it”

The singer Sabrina Carpenter26, was involved in a new controversy last Friday night (10) when performing at the international festival Coachella. The event was held at the Empire Polo Club, in California, in the United States.

Shortly before performing, already sitting at her classic piano, Carpenter reacted with confusion to the scream of a fan who was in the audience.

“I think I heard someone singing yodelei. Is that what you’re doing? I don’t like it,” said the singer from the stage.

In response, the admirer explained that it was part of her culture and that it was “a call to celebrate.” The noise was later identified as “zaghrouta”, a sound made with the mouth to symbolize joy in Arab and African culture.

“Is this your culture? Singing yodeling? Are we in the ? What’s happening? This is strange,” continued Sabrina before continuing her presentation.

The excerpt went viral on social media and was not well received by the majority of the public. For internet users, the North American “seemed to be making fun of the fan” who was “just celebrating her show”.

So far, Carpenter and the organization have not commented on what happened last night. This Saturday morning (11), Sabrina even shared some clicks of her performance on her Instagram profile.
