The Israeli prime minister confirmed that Israel agrees to start direct talks, but set an uncompromising condition: the complete disarmament of the Hezbollah movement. At the same time, Netanyahu highlighted the successes of the joint military operation with the US, which, according to him, succeeded in destroying Iran’s nuclear and missile programs.
Israel wants to conclude a peace treaty with Lebanon “that will last for generations,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Saturday, AFP reported.

According to Israel, the condition for a long-term agreement is the disarmament of Hezbollah
According to Netanyahu, Lebanon repeatedly asked Israel to start direct peace negotiations in March. “I agreed,” the Israeli prime minister said in a televised speech. He said that any future peace talks with Lebanon must lead to an agreement that is sustainable in the long term. He emphasized that Israel agrees to the start of direct talks, with their condition being the disarmament of the pro-Iranian Hezbollah movement and the prospect of reaching a stable peace agreement.
In the context of the fight against armed groups supported by Iran, Netanyahu welcomed the creation of safe zones by Israeli security forces in the Palestinian Gaza Strip, Syria and Lebanon.
Netanyahu declared that the fight against both Hezbollah and Hamas continues
“We will consult with Hamas (Palestinian radical movement) in Gaza,” he promised, adding that Israel “will also take care of the rockets still in the possession of the pro-Iranian Lebanese militant movement Hezbollah. According to Netanyahu, Hezbollah planned to send thousands of members of its elite Radwan troops to the border with Israel and then attack the Galilee and capture it. “We are still fighting them; no it’s over,” he declared.
In his speech, Netanyahu declared that the joint American-Israeli operation against Iran succeeded in achieving the “destruction” of Iran’s nuclear program as well as its ballistic missile development and production program.
He added that this war has also weakened the Iranian leadership and its regional allies. “They wanted to suffocate us, and now we are suffocating them. They threatened us with destruction and today they are fighting for survival,” Netanyahu declared.
