On Saturday evening (April 11), Křižík’s pavilion in the Výstaviště Praha area was the venue for the gala evening of the presentation of the Czech Music Academy’s Anděl Coca–Cola 2025 annual awards. The Academy awarded eight awards in the main and six awards in the genre categories. The award was also announced in the category of the best Slovak album. The statue of Angel was won by Richard Müller with the group Banquet for the album Slovenská strela. Singer Lenka Filipová was inducted into the Hall of Fame. The moderators of the evening were Libor Bouček and Martin Mikyska.
Michal Prokop and Framus Five received two angel statuettes for the album Ostraka, which won awards in the Album of the Year and Solo Artist categories. Likewise, James Cole & Idea won two angels in the Rap and Joint Project categories for the Dona album. The group of the year is the band from Valašské Meziříčí Mňága and Žďorp, their new album Hoříš? I’m on fire! The discovery of the year is the young singer with American roots Marie April, whose debut album Tangerines won the award.
The Gufrau Trinity, Victor Kal. and Rohony received an award in the Song of the Year category for the song Navždycky blázen. Klára Vytisková is a solo performer thanks to the +EGA album. Angel for the clip of the year was won by Yash 96 for the music video for the song Shake You Off directed by Jakub J. Jirásk. Singer, songwriter, lyricist and guitarist Lenka Filipová was inducted into the Hall of Fame, her daughter, singer and songwriter Lenny, accepted the award for her.
In the genre awards, the statuette for the victory in the Alternative and Electronica category was taken by the group Ida The Young for the album Tell Me When You Pass The Sun, in the Folk category Jan Běťák won with the album Jazykem květin. The Jazz category was dominated by Tomáš Liška & Invisible World thanks to the Holy Grail album, Klasika Alinde Quintet and their Inscape/Haas, Šostakovič, Vasks, Novák. The rock highlight of the past year was the album Amen by the band Lvmen.
The most votes in the Slovak album category went to Richard Müller with the band Banket for the album Slovenská strela. The trio of nominees also included Adam Ďurica with the album Adam and the group Peter Bič Project with the album Stille ta má koke rad. The Anděl awards have been awarded annually since 1991 by the Czech Academy of Music. Since 1995, they have been declared ČNS IFPI, and since 1997 they have been symbolized by the statue of Angel with a talisman by the sculptor Jaroslav Róna.
