The director of the PJ of Vila Real, David Martinssaid this Thursday that the murder of the 8-year-old girl by her stepmother was premeditated and occurred in a context of disagreements between the woman and the child’s father.

The 48-year-old woman was arrested today by the Vila Real PJ after, during the early hours of the morning, she told the police the place where she left the girl’s body, named Lara.

The family lives in Celeirósmunicipality of Valpaços, and the crime would have occurred in Serra da Padrela, in the neighboring municipality of Vila Pouca de Aguiar. According to , the girl’s mother I was in deep depressionwhen she ended her relationship with Lara’s father and was fighting for custody of her daughter.

David Martins explained that there is evidence that the girl will have been asphyxiated by the stepmother, however, she warned that the cause of death will have to be confirmed by autopsy on the corpse.

“Everything indicates that It will be a question of revenge”, highlighted the director of the PJ of Vila Real, who detailed that the couple was together for about five yearswith several separations in between, and which there must have been premeditation of the girl’s death.

According to David Martins, the crime would have taken place in a context of disagreements between the woman and her partner. The situation that led to this outcome, says the PJ official, could have happened on Sundayduring the visit of a son of suspect.

Back at the family home, the boy, who is institutionalized for bad behavior in Bragança, he will have pushed his mother. The stepfather intervenedand questioned his stepson, but the woman will not have liked this attitude of the companion.

On Wednesday, according to the director of the PJ of Vila Real, the girl caught the bus to go to school in Carrazedo de Montenegro, where ndidn’t get inwhy the stepmother went to get herlater taking her to the mountains where he committed the crime.

Next to the girl’s body was found the backpack he was carrying to school.

The PJ investigation began after the The girl’s father filed a complaint at the Carrazedo de Montenegro Military Police station late Wednesday afternoon, when he realized that the child did not return from school as usual, at 18:00.

During the investigation, PJ agents located the stepmother in the area of Macedo de Cavaleiros, where it originates.

“She ended up confessing that she was the perpetrator of the crime.. The body was then located, which took a few hours because recommended us several places”, said David Martins, concretizing that it was just at 05:00 he indicated the exact location in the Serra da Padrela.

The suspect will be present this Friday at the Vila Pouca de Aguiar Court, to apply possible coercive measures.
