According to all the rules of US politics, it should have been an exciting, but at times also an unpleasant evening for Shawn Harris, Chris Taylor and Alicia Halvensleben. But on Wednesday night it quickly became clear that things were going to be different: the three have little to do with each other, they were running for very different positions in different places in the USA. But they have two things in common: Firstly, they are politicians from the Democratic Party. And secondly, they massively exceeded expectations.
