The Chamber of Deputies will hold two events to mark the 30th anniversary of the Eldorado do Carajás massacre (PA),
This Wednesday (15), there will be a public hearing on the topic at the House Human Rights Committee. The following day, a formal session will take place in the Chamber plenary, with the presence of the president, Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB).
At the events, there will be the presence of activists from the Landless Rural Workers Movement (), as well as parliamentarians and the minister Fernanda Machiaveli, of Agrarian Development, the president of the National Institute of Colonization and (Incra), César Aldrighi, and representatives of the Ministry of Social Development and the General Secretariat of the Presidency.
The Eldorado do Carajás massacre is one of the main episodes of violence in the history of Brazil, and is still remembered today by the MST, which holds a series of demonstrations every year in April.
