An accident on Monday night on the A1, in the Cartaxo area, between a heavy goods vehicle and a passenger car left one person dead and the road is restricted from north to south, said a GNR source.
“A collision between a heavy goods vehicle and a passenger car at kilometer 56 of Highway 1 [A1] resulted in a fatal victim”, an officer serving at the General Command of the Republican National Guard confirmed to Lusa.
According to the same source, the fatal victim, male, whose age is not yet known, was in the light vehicle.
It is accident occurred at 8:05 p.m. in the area of the union of the parishes of Cartaxo and Vale da Pinta.
But, Authorities’ work is still ongoing at the siteso traffic on the A1 is “conditioned in the direction of north to south, in the right lane”, mentioned.
According to the official page of the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC), 11 operational personnel and four vehicles are still on site at the moment.
