49 people were arrested for promoting wild bird fights and mistreatment of animals by the Civil Police, in the Santa Cecília neighborhood (capital of São Paulo), this Monday (13).

Those investigated stated that they participated in betting and had already taken birds to the location.
307 birds and three eggs were rescued. One of the birds was dead.
In addition, several cell phones, documents, card machines, cash and vehicles used to transport the animals were also seized.
An expert report was requested from the IC (Institute of Criminalistics), with support from the Metropolitan Environmental Civil Guard.
The case was registered at the 1st Police Station of Diima as killing specimens of wild fauna, carrying out an act of and locating/seizing a vehicle.
