Lula must choose João Campos’ nominee for ministry – 04/15/2026 – Brasília Hoje

President Luiz Inácio da Silva (PT) is expected to change the Minister of Entrepreneurship after an intervention by the president of , . Paulo Pereira, former executive secretary of Conselhão (Council for Sustainable Economic and Social Development) and current national secretary of Consumer Affairs, is the likely next minister.

The Ministry of Entrepreneurship is under the command of former PSB deputy Tadeu Alencar, who was executive secretary of the department under the now former minister. He had the support of the former head of the ministry to take on the role.

Lula transformed several executive secretaries into ministers in early April. Several heads of portfolios, such as Márcio França, left their positions to run in this year’s elections. The President of the Republic promoted people who already worked in ministries to avoid discontinuity of government programs.

Pereira is a law professor and ally of the deputy (PSB-SP), João Campos’ wife. Over the years, he became a trusted name for the PSB president.

The head of government is also considering promoting another person related to the Council. This is Olavo Noleto, current executive secretary of the organization. It must be transferred to ADBI (Brazilian Industrial Development Agency).

Lula as minister of the SRI (Secretariat of Institutional Relations), but what about the deputy (PT-CE).
