Martin Nikodým: THE TRUTH about the dismissal from STVR! Was everything different? The presenter admits that…

STVR General Director Martina Flašíková made a controversial decision last year. After taking office, she decided to get rid of some shows, and surprisingly, the show I Love Slovakia was also among the rejected projects. Flašíková perceived the television mastodon as a neglected format.

However, together with him, she also let one of her most popular faces into the water – Martin Nikodým. “Yes, you have the right information. After Milujem Slovensko, the management of STVR decided to end the successful and audience-popular quiz Everywhere is good, at home is best. So, after years, I no longer have any programs at STVR.” he admitted last year to Nikodým, saying that he doesn’t give a damn about television, but that he doesn’t understand this decision. He did not speak to the wind, because after a few months he reappeared on the airwaves of the public broadcaster Dvojka. STVR entrusted him with moderating the Construction of the Year program, which for Martin Nikodým meant a one-time return to Mlynská dolina.

The presenter has currently received an opportunity for a job on the side from the radio station, but he cannot change the bitter past. According to him, they solved the unpleasant thing when they set up a public “funus” for him last year with ordinary text messages. “Such moves happen regularly in the media, it’s normal. But the truth remains that I spent 35 years in that television and maybe they didn’t even realize that they gave me up in this way.” sighed Martin in November, who together with Adela Vinczeová moved to the screen of the commercial JOJka. Along the way, they added colleague Matej Sajfa Cifru to the team, and the trio is already successfully pulling it off from Koliba in the renewed Milujem Slovensko.

After parting, even Slovak Television did not rest on its laurels. She bought the rights to the Swedish format On the right track, which she pitted against her former gem. As it turned out, according to the original plans, not only Adela Vinczeová, but also Martin Nikodým was supposed to act in it. “As far as STVR is concerned, it is true that I was also offered On the right path. However, it was at a time when it was already more or less clear that the show Milujem Slovensko would continue on one of the private televisions. Therefore, I politely explained that I could not be on two televisions at the same time on Friday evening and compete with myself – that is simply not possible. So I decided to stay with Milujem Slovensko.” he explained to the moderator. Everything could have looked different that way, as the head of STVR Martina Flašíková also admits.

“In the case of Martin Nikodým, it was a natural termination of the projects on which he collaborated. We offered Adele Vincze, as well as Martin Nikodým, other opportunities for cooperation, including new formats and the continuation of existing projects. However, both of them decided on their own professional path, which we respect.” she stated recently in an interview for Flašíková.

Subsequently, she reinforced her statement. “However, it is also important to say that their work in STVR has been stable for a long time and has been rated above standard. The decision to leave was their own and it is natural that they communicate it in their own way. We consider it correct to stick to the facts – STVR was interested in continued cooperation and created specific conditions for this.” Flašíková was digging.
