The signaled a direct clash with the race for the Senate and for more space on the electoral ticket in São Paulo by approving, on Tuesday night (14), a resolution formalizing support for ()’s candidacy for the São Paulo government.
The resolution was released after a meeting of the PSOL state leadership on Tuesday night. The text reiterates support for (Rede’s) candidacy for the Federal Senate, says that the party will have “active participation in the campaign” and that it will also discuss the possibility of taking one of the substitute vacancies for the Legislative House.
The decision to formalize the role that PSOL will have on the ticket, according to leaders interviewed by Sheetwas a way found by the acronym, which forms a federation with the Network, to impose itself in discussions about the electoral coalition, which has two PSB cadres applying for seats in the Senate.
A leader told the report that the PSB needs to resolve internally about who its candidate for senator will be: the former minister of Entrepreneurship, or the former minister of Planning.
Tebet, previously affiliated with the MDB of Mato Grosso do Sul, switched states and parties at the request of the president (PT). Among France’s allies, who had already signaled interest in running for the Government of SP or the Senate, Tebet’s candidacy was seen as an imposition and, therefore, the former minister would also have the right to run.

However, the PSOL-Rede federation refuses the possibility of the PSB contesting the two Senate seats. The idea of launching three names for the Upper House is also not well received: parties see that presenting more candidates than there are available places could disperse the votes and weaken the dispute.
Therefore, in the resolution released on Tuesday, PSOL says it will support “another candidacy from the progressive camp” for the Senate, without mentioning names. According to party officials, the acronym for the federation with the Network and it will be up to the PSB, and also the PT, which heads the ticket, to find a way to resolve the issue.
Furthermore, according to the federation’s leadership, PSOL and Rede together have 6 federal deputies from São Paulo, more than the PSB, which has 2 from the state.
The PSOL resolution also calls on the state leadership to meet again in the first half of May and debate proposals for these.
“Faced with this scenario, the central task posed to all progressive forces is the construction of a political and social unit capable of defeating the current state government and the project it represents.”
