Inter Milan beats Cagliari and takes the Italian Championship title

Just four minutes later, Nicolò Barella doubled for Inter against his former club, finishing brilliantly from the edge of the box after a deflection into the Cagliari defense.

Cagliari coach Fabio Pisacane tried to react with substitutions, putting Paul Mendy and Alessandro Deiola on the field, but was unable to change the outlook of the game.

In stoppage time of the match, in the 46th minute, Piotr Zielinski closed the scoring with a beautiful goal, hitting the drawer after an assist from Denzel Dumfries.

The statistics confirm Inter’s dominance in the match, with 61% possession of the ball, 18 shots (five on target) compared to Cagliari’s nine (only one on goal).

Cristian Chivu’s men were also superior in passing, with an impressive 478 successful passes compared to the opponent’s 319.

With the victory, Internazionale reached 78 points and remains in , maintaining a 12 point advantage over Napoli, second placed with 66 points.

Cagliari remains in 16th place with 33 points, just six above the relegation zone, where Cremonese is, the first team in the Z-3 with 27 points.

In the next round, they will seek to expand their advantage at the top, while they need to add points to definitively move away from the relegation zone.
