Lebanese President Joseph Aoun said Friday that any future agreement reached by the government would not cede any territory or harm Lebanon’s national rights, without saying whether he was referring to possible negotiations with Israel.
The televised speech was his first speech since the US brokered a ceasefire to end fighting between Israel and the Hezbollah armed group on Thursday. The text of the agreement says that Israel and Lebanon would hold direct talks to produce a ‘peace between the two countries’.
