Argentine president is on an official visit to the country, where he discusses strategic agreements with the Israeli government
The president of Argentina, , was honored this Monday (April 20, 2026) with the Israeli Presidential Medal of Honor. It is the main civil distinction granted by the country. The delivery took place in an official ceremony with the president.
The decoration is given to individuals who have made an exceptional contribution to the State of Israel or to humanity.

Israel declared that the medal “constant and firm support” by Milei. The country cited the Argentine leader’s commitment to family members of the victims of the attacks on October 7, 2023. On that date, the terrorist group Hamas carried out a series of coordinated attacks against Israel.
“In early 2024, just a few months after the October 7th massacre, President Milei chose to make his first official visit to the State of Israel, while war was still raging in the country. Together, we visited Kibbutz Nir Oz [comunidade no sul de Israel] and we cried together as we saw the destruction. In the face of the deep pain and trauma experienced by all of Israeli society, he offered his courageous friendship during one of the most difficult times we have ever faced.”said Herzog.
AGREEMENTS ANNOUNCED
On Sunday (19 April), the two announced the Isaac Accords to strengthen bilateral cooperation in areas such as technology, artificial intelligence, trade and air transport.
Milei also reinforced political alignment and support with Israel and the United States in international security. “I celebrate the continuous rapprochement between our peoples, I celebrate the consolidation of this friendship, which has been one of the pillars of our government’s foreign policy and part of a return to the Judeo-Christian values that made us great”these.
