The Federal Police appointed delegate Tatiana Alves Torres to the role of liaison officer at the United States immigration service, ICE, replacing delegate Marcelo Ivo. The change at the post took place through an ordinance signed by general delegate Andrei Rodrigues on Friday, 17th, and published on Monday, 20th, in the Official Gazette of the Union.
On the same Monday, the government of the United States, alleging that the Brazilian had tried to “manipulate” the American immigration system, “bypassing formal extradition requests” and “extending political persecution to the territory of the United States”.
Last week, former federal deputy Alexandre Ramagem, convicted by the Federal Supreme Court (STF) of an attempted coup d’état, was detained by ICE and released two days later.
