The former governor of Goiás Ronaldo Caiado (PS,) pre-candidate for the Presidency, participated this Tuesday (21) in an event at the Fonte da Vida Church, at Clube Juventus, in Mooca, East Zone of São Paulo, and heard from its leader, the apostle César Augusto, that he could support him for the Planalto, although he did not make a definitive statement.
– I’ve known Caiado since I was a deputy (…) When he said he would be a candidate, I told him that the door that God opens, no one closes. God needs a courageous and coherent man to make changes in this country – said Augusto, who added: – We have two wonderful right-wing candidates –, without mentioning by name the also pre-candidate and senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL).
The son of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) was also invited to the event, but did not attend, “due to scheduling issues”. In a seven-minute speech, Ronaldo Caiado spoke about his relationship with the religious host of the event.
– I met the apostle Caesar Augustus when my wife had a very serious health problem. I’m a doctor, I’m a surgeon. You know that at that moment you have no alternative, such is the severity of the situation. That was when the apostle Cesar arrived and every day he went to visit my wife Gracinha. And then I got closer and closer to him. And you can see that we built a friendship. My wife is in excellent health, she has recovered 100%, and he and I are getting closer and closer. That’s why I’m grateful to him – said Caiado.
Afterwards, Caiado cited his experience in the Executive and Legislative branches, as a way of opposing Flávio. Without mentioning his opponent, the politician from Goiás cited his mandates as deputy, senator and governor and said again that “in Goiás, criminals don’t grow up”, the mantra of his second campaign for Planalto.
Two weeks ago, also in São Paulo, Caiado, this time referring specifically to senator Flávio Bolsonaro, compared the two to doctors who work in hospitals.

– Would you put your child to be operated on by someone who started their first year of college or by someone who already has several years of experience in surgery? — he questioned.
In addition to pointing out security and citing political experience, Caiado has been trying to get closer to evangelicals. The former governor intensified his dialogue with religious operators and began offering them political space in his campaign. Last week he gave a nod to leaders linked to the Assembly of God Madureira Ministry.
This Tuesday (21), Caiado, who has spent most of his pre-campaign time in São Paulo, was accompanied by the national president of the PSD, Gilberto Kassab, cited as “ideal vice” by the former governor at another recent event in the state.
