Home is a feeling. A sense of harmony is the main thing that everyone expects from home, but people often cannot name it. Each of us is calmed by a different space, different colors, materials. How to find your own in it? Kamila Douděrová will help you.
Harmony of colors and shapes
You can achieve a harmonious cozy home with the materials used, ideally I would recommend choosing one wood decor for the floor and furniture. I do not recommend different wood grain. Never combine, for example, oak with pine. Contexts play an important role. Here, the circle of the sun motif on the wallpaper is prescribed to us in the shape of the coffee table, so seemingly unrelated elements create a hidden bond that adds dynamism to the interior. A smart and unobtrusive solution of a built-in kitchen in a connected space with the living room is one of the most important things, the kitchen does not play the main role here, but is rather materially set back. Thanks to this, the design pieces stand out more in the form of an interesting lamp, reminiscent of the silhouettes of birds on the photo wallpaper.
Original accessories
The interior does not have to be expensive to be original. I like funny accessories, such as a bird hook.
Tip: Listen to yourself more than trends, trust your inner feeling.
Do not be afraid that the interior will be too monotonous
It is enough to stick one piece of furniture in a different color. And did you know that green suits wood? His drawing stands out even more. I like to use Casella Oak natural light decor, it is a so-called Feelwood laminate, where you really can’t tell the difference from real wood by sight or touch.

We talked with interior architect Kamila Douděrová not only about what Czech interiors suffer from and how to alleviate them easily and quickly.
Is there a typical mistake of Czech interiors?
Uselessness. Overcrowding and scrambling, when nothing is thrown away because it might come in handy one day. And a fondness for shopping for small things, bowls and vases, which often leads to buying other pieces of furniture just to have somewhere to put them. The result is then unnecessarily built up and cramped.
What should we all check at home?
The first thing you see when you arrive. Hallways and hallways are often neglected, yet they are what welcome you home. See if a pile of jackets and shoes isn’t staring at you and if it couldn’t be solved somehow, at least place something nice directly opposite the entrance door. Something that hints at what awaits you next.
