Las American forces have intercepted and sanctioned ship that transports oil from Iranas published by the country’s Department of Defense in X.
“US forces conducted a maritime interdiction and right-of-access boarding of the sanctioned unflagged vessel M/T Majestic X, carrying oil from Iran, in the Indian Ocean,” the statement said.
The department states that the US Army will continue to intercept suspicious vessels to “provide material support to Iran.”
A maritime interdiction refers to the interception or inspection of a ship by a navy when it is suspected of being hostile or violating the law.
USA has intercepted dozens of boats since it began its blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. It is not intercepting these ships near Iran, but further away in the Indian Ocean.
