Father and son die after pickup truck with cheese crashes into trailer in Minas Gerais

Father and son, aged 26 and 59, died after an accident on MG-428in Sacramento, during the early hours of the morning, around 4 am, this Thursday (23). The Fire Department reported that the victims were in a truck transporting cheese and crashed into the back of a trailer that was stopped on the highway due to a fire in its load.

The Military Police (PM) reported that they were traveling on the highway to respond to the fire incident. when the vehicle was overtaken by the pickup truck and, a few meters ahead, collided with the trailer.

Due to the fire, firefighters were already nearby and the rescue team arrived quickly. The victims of the truck died before receiving help. Father and son were trapped in the wreckage and it was necessary to extricate him.

Civil Police experts went to the scene to investigate the causes of the accident and check whether there was adequate signage on the road. The driver of the truck told police that the fire started after a overheating in the brake system.

According to firefighters, the occupants of the truck headed in the Sacramento–Rifaina direction and were born in Araxá. The bodies have already been sent to the Legal Medical Institute (IML);
