Lula will have no restrictions for the campaign, says Kalil after medical procedure

Medical advice is for relative rest in the next few days, with caution in participating in large events immediately after surgery.

O cardiologist Roberto Kalil Filho stated this Friday (24), that the President Lula (PT) has no medical restrictions to run his re-election campaignafter a procedure carried out at Hospital Sírio-Libanês, in the capital of São Paulo.

According to Kalil, Lula underwent removal of a lesion on his scalp (keratosis), intervention that had already been scheduled for around two months. The procedure lasted approximately one hour and was uneventful. Lula should leave the hospital around noon.

“The president underwent removal of a small skin lesion, something already foreseen. Everything went smoothly”, said the doctor. He emphasized that the intervention is not related to any fall in the bathroom at Palácio do Alvorada.

A medical advice is relative rest for the next few dayswith caution when participating in large events immediately after surgery. Still, the doctor ruled out impacts on the political agenda. “He should resume his normal routine in a few days. This will not hinder the campaign,” he said.

According to dermatologist Cristina Abdallait is a common lesion, associated with sun exposure, classified as basal cell carcinoma. “It is the most common skin lesion. It is localized, does not spread, and the procedure is removal”, he explained. The material was sent for biopsy, with definitive results expected in the next few days.

In addition, the president underwent infiltration in his hand to treat inflammation, also hassle-free. According to the president’s doctor, Ana Helena Germoglio, the president is in good general condition and in a good mood.

During recovery, Lula must maintain local caresuch as wearing a bandage and protecting against the sun, including a hat. Complete healing of the operated area should take about a month.

A First Lady Rosângela Lula da Silva, known as Janja, accompanied the president during the service. According to the medical team, Lula was already willing to leave the hospital shortly after the procedure.
