A United States government official who worked in Brazil decided to leave the country on Thursday (23) following the decision by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to adopt reciprocity in relation to determinations made by US President Donald Trump. According to the investigation of the Young PanMichael Myers had worked in cooperation with the Federal Police (PF) since 2024.
The general director of the Federal Police (PF), Andrei Rodrigues, had revealed on Wednesday (22) the corporation’s system. The measure, according to him, was in accordance with the principle of reciprocity.
The decision to withdraw the police officer’s credentials and, consequently, Michael Myers’ departure from Brazil, comes after the Trump administration, after its role in the arrest of former federal deputy, Alexandre Ramagem (PL), last week. Late Monday afternoon (20), the Office for the Western Hemisphere of the State Department of the American government confirmed the information in X.
“No foreigner has the right to manipulate our immigration system to simultaneously circumvent formal extradition requests and extend political persecution to United States territory. Today, we request that the Brazilian authority in question leaves our country for having tried to do exactly that”, informed the Office.
