Zanin orders the release of lobbyist investigated for selling sentences at the STJ

Minister of the STF considered that there was an excess of time in the preventive detention of Andreson de Oliveira

Minister of the Federal Supreme Court Cristiano Zanin determined this Friday (April 24, 2026) the release of the businessman Andreson de Oliveirainvestigated in a scheme for selling judicial decisions at the STJ (Superior Court of Justice). The minister considered that there was an excess of time in the custody of the person being investigated.

Zanin’s decision replaces preventive detention with alternative precautionary measures. The target of an investigation that lasted more than two years, the businessman is identified as one of the main operators of the scheme that would involve the offices of ministers of the Superior Court.

In my opinion, despite the existence of elements indicative of voluntary weight loss, the progress of the investigations authorizes, from now on, the review of the extreme measure, including due to the extended period of validity of preventive detention“, declared the minister.
