The Government will deliver this Tuesday (28) at Agrishow, a traditional agricultural fair in Ribeirão Preto (SP), 42 new rural property titles, part of one of the main management programs (Republicans) for the countryside.
With this, the number of land regularization titles has reached 5,375 issued since the beginning of the current government. The volume is 16 times higher than the total delivered in the period from 2011 to 2022.
The action is coordinated by the Department of Agriculture and Supply, through Itesp. 250 thousand hectares were regularized, with public investments of more than R$20 million since 2023. Small and medium-sized landowners account for 90% of those benefiting.
Pontal do Paranapanema and Vale do Ribeira account for the majority of deliveries during the period. The government’s goal is to own 100% of rural settlements by the end of 2026.
The land regularization program is one of Tarcísio’s showcases for the countryside and faces opposition from landless movements and left-wing parties, who see the process of land regularization as empty.
Defenders of the practice argue, giving freedom to produce according to market rules.
