Washington – According to insiders, several US low-cost airlines have asked the government in Washington for state aid worth $2.5 billion. In return, the companies offered a stake in the company, two people familiar with the process told the Reuters news agency on Monday. The group included Frontier and Avelo, among others. The airlines had proposed issuing warrants that could be converted into shares.
