Focus Bulletin raises inflation projection to 4.86% in 2026

According to the Central Bank, the estimate for the Selic remains unchanged compared to the previous week, at 13%

What was released this Monday (April 27, 2026) by the Central Bank raised the IPCA (Broad Consumer Price Index), the country’s official inflation, to 4.86%. In the previous week, the estimate was 4.80%.

Defined by the National Monetary Council, a is 3%, with a tolerance range of 1.5 percentage points up or down. In other words, the lower limit is 1.5% and the upper limit is 4.5%. Read the bulletin (PDF – 770 kB).

The document kept the estimate for the Selic rate unchanged compared to the previous week, at 13%.

Economists slightly reduced Brazil’s GDP (Gross Domestic Product) growth projection. The high estimate fell from 1.88% to 1.87%. For 2027, it remained at 1.80%.

The estimate for the exchange rate was R$5.25 this week.
