Former Minister of Finance and Education and current pre-candidate for governor of São Paulo, Fernando Haddad (PT) called senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL), President Lula’s (PT) main competitor for the Planalto Palace in the 2026 elections, “Bolsonarinho”.
“Lula will compete with ‘Bolsonarinho’, with Jair Bolsonaro’s son, a family that has always brought chaos to this country,” he said, recalling episodes such as the crack scheme and the pandemic.
Flávio Bolsonaro is the son of former president, Jair Bolsonaro (PL), currently imprisoned for leading the attempted coup d’état after the 2022 elections.
In a speech at the end of the PT Congress, this Sunday (26), Haddad argued that Lula’s campaign, in his bid for his fourth term, must “offer the Brazilian people a government program that goes beyond what we have already done.”
“We can’t just keep rebuilding. We have to move forward,” he added.
