And they threaten to use nuclear weapons of mass destruction: the USA under Donald Trump against Iran and Russia under Vladimir Putin in its Ukraine campaign. The Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), on the other hand, has been the foundation of the global nuclear order for more than half a century – and it is intended to protect humanity from the apocalyptic horror of nuclear war. But unscrupulous politicians are attacking the nuclear order and it is crumbling.
