Someone must have betrayed Alois K.. Out of the blue, the official from the Foreign Ministry’s encryption department was summoned for questioning in April 1969. According to a note in the file, the basis was “information from a strictly confidential source”. The state police initially had no evidence that could be used in court. In his first questioning, K. was talking himself out of his head.
