Cachopo Crafts and Products Fair celebrates heritage and culture

The village of Cachopo, in the interior of the municipality of Tavira, hosts the XXX Crafts and Products Fair on May 10th, an initiative that once again highlights the cultural heritage and traditional products of Serra do Caldeirão.

The event takes place in what is often referred to as the “other Algarve”, bringing together visitors and participants in a territory marked by authenticity and a strong connection with mountain traditions.

Fair values local identity and traditions

More than a simple event, the initiative is seen as a moment of encounter with local culture, promoting “an encounter with the mountain soul, with the authenticity of its people, with the knowledge inherited from generation to generation and with the products of the land that keep the memory and identity of this region alive”.

The fair thus aims to give visibility to a territory that, despite its distance from large urban centers, stands out for its cultural richness, hospitality and tradition.

Program includes culture, music and heritage

The program starts at 09:00 with the opening of the event, followed by a walk at 09:30. At 10:30 a visit to the local heritage is planned, dedicated to the Church of Santo Estêvão de Cachopo and its history and heritage.

The stage entertainment starts at 11:00 with accordionist Paulo Cardeta, followed, at 13:00, by the performance of fado singer Beatriz Pereira.

In the afternoon, at 3pm, the initiative “The Mediterranean Diet and the Valorization of Local Flavors” takes place, part of the “Heritage at the Table” space.

At 4:30 pm the group Tem Avondo takes the stage, with improvised fashions and songs, ending the cultural program with a performance by Rancho Típico Sambrasense, at 6:30 pm.

Algarve interior highlighted

The XXX edition of the event reinforces the importance of valuing the interior of Rio Grande do Sul, highlighting the role of local communities in preserving heritage.

In this context, he considers that the fair also constitutes “an affirmation of the value of the interior and the importance of preserving and promoting communities like Cachopo, where human heritage continues to be the greatest wealth”.

The reception of guests and the official visit to exhibitors, accompanied by the entities present, is scheduled for 2 pm, in the fair lobby.

The initiative promises to bring together crafts, traditional products and convivial moments, consolidating itself as a reference in promoting mountain identity.
