President Lula’s (PT) nominee to the STF stated that the Federal Attorney General’s Office fulfilled its role ‘in a technical and republican manner’
The Union’s attorney general, Jorge Messias, nominated for a vacancy on the Federal Supreme Court (STF), denied this Wednesday (29) that, under his management, the Attorney General’s Office left out demonstrations against unions linked to the son of President Lula (PT).
“I categorically state that I asked against the union and its leaders. The AGU fulfilled its role in a technical and republican manner. We presented three batches of shares”, he said. “All entities were sued”, he continued, during the Senate’s (CCJ).
The statement came after senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) stated that the AGU would not have spoken out about the unions linked to Lulinha.
Messiah also said that the harmed by fraud have already been compensated. “I want to say that we have already blocked more than R$2.33 billion in values and assets. And I want to tell you that, in this process, we have already managed to return to more than 4.5 million retirees and pensioners the amounts that were inevitably deducted and fully corrected”, he said.
The forecast is that the votes for Messias in the Senate CCJ and in the plenary will be held this Wednesday.
